A case for BitGold

Earlier this year I heard about BitGold (sign up for BitGold here) and thought it was something like BitCoin (find out more information about BitCoin here). Because I am not interested in electronic crypto currencies I did not look into BitGold. All that changed when I watched an interview with Rick Rule where he admitted to testing the service. This got my interest.

In mid May I decide to give BitGold a try and was surprised at how easy it was to sign up for the service, link my bank account to it (verified account) and buy gold. There is a 1% premium for buying and selling gold - the lowest in the industry. BitGold also offers a GOLDMONEY branded prepaid MASTERCARD for spending your gold on goods and services.

What could be better than BitGold? How about merging BitGold, GOLDMONEY and SchiffGOLD! A bullion bank, a brokerage house and an electronic platform for saving and transacting in gold for everyday expenses. So whether you want to save in gold, invest in gold and/or spend in gold, BitGold is for you.

My own experience has been great. Since I opened my BitGold account in mid May, I have transferred in CDN$610. The last time I checked the 11.9 grams of gold is now worth over CDN$650. There is no bank account on this planet that pays CDN$40 in interest in approximately two months on CDN$610. As gold is expected to go over US$2,500 by May 2019, BitGold users will see their savings grow at a far faster rate than inflation, return on investment in the stock market and even the safest investment (other than gold and silver) - US government T-Bills.

Be aware the BitGold link contains encoding that identifies me as the referrer. Should you decide to use the link to open a BitGold account and fund it (purchase at least 0.1 grams of gold within a certain amount of time) we both get a bonus of at least 0.1 grams of gold. See BitGold.com/r/2QRkgb for details.

  1. Hi, I just signed up after clicking your affiliate link and bought gold. When do we receive the $10 and is this part of the golden heart referral program?

    1. The 0.01 gram referral bonus is paid only when the BitGold account is funded within the first 48 hours of the account is opened. I believe is may be difficult to do unless the funding is done by credit card.

  2. Also, where can I find information other than your link that Schiffgold, bitcoin and goldmoney merged? Thanks

    1. See this search result - https://www.google.ca/#q=schiff+gold+merges+with+goldmoney&gws_rd=cr

I hope you find the information you're looking for.

    2. Just to ensure we got it right - SCHIFFGOLD merged with BITGOLD/GOLDMONEY. BITCOIN is not connected with BITGOLD/GOLDMONEY/SCHIFFGOLD.

  3. Hi Phillip, thanks for the information. Since I commented I was able to find more on it too. This is great.

As for the $10, I did fund the account within about two hours after clicking your link. It was actually quite easy. I did receive the 5% bonus in my account as they promised. Haven't seen the $10 yet. Hopefully we'll both get it. Also, by the next day I was also verified after providing my I.D. to them. I also received this from them after opting for their debit mastercard, so so far so good:

"Congratulations! You are an early adopter of the GoldMoney Prepaid MasterCard™, providing everyday spending access to your BitGold account. Simply load value from your BitGold account or mobile app and transact anywhere MasterCard® is accepted, including withdraws to your local currency from traditional Automated Banking Machines."

    1. When I opted for the MASTERCARD, I chose the US$ currency. Since then I have come across information that indicates the US$ will loose world reserve currency status by 2018 and will be come a currency that is only accepted in the USA. People, like me, that live outside the USA will find their US$ denominated MASTERCARD will stop being accepted by businesses outside the USA. Because of this, I plan to get a Pound Sterling denominated card by 2018. My reasoning is simple - the British Pound has been around for over 500 years, is still a reserve currency and is still accepted world wide. I do not expect this to change any time soon.

  4. Yes, I meant to write Bitgold, Schiffgold and Goldmoney merged, not Bitcoin. Thanks for catching that.
